Front assist Sensor and Bracket. Superb3

Featured Replies

2018 Superb 280 Hatch.

Hi - so I got the warning lights - when I got into it - turns out part of the bracket has disintigrated where the balancer rods come through, so its wobbling !!!.

Has anyone used the chinese brackets and sensors ? - may just try a new bracket and get it calibrated

I know it will need calibrating

cheers

David.

Fitted new Genuine bracket and still got warning 'Front assist unavailable' I guess it does need calibrating (or sensor is faulty)

I thought they needed calibraiting, if its the same set up as a Golf - we had to use someone who was £300 and in the workshop for 20 minutes. We find if you don't turn the ignition on with the sensor disconnected then it doesn't throw up a fault code. I presume you have cleared all fault codes and driven it ?

Changed the bracket on mine, and the error went off after going over 50mph....

Bracket is made of cheap frangible sugar! I would consider if they were made from brandy snap at least you would having something nice to eat when they disintegrate. Top RH corner failed behind adjuster but just look at the corrosion, outrageous really that they can be so poorly designed and manufactured 😱

£53 for new bracket and quoted over £300 for calibration. I'll be trying, no power whilst disconnected and M1 Southbound>50 mph.

I'll let you know.
