P190E00 fault and engine light showing yellow

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I was wondering what were your thoughts about the P190E00 fault that was diagnosed by my OBDeleven on my Skoda Octavia MK3 2013. It seems to be pointing at the coolant pump.

As you can see on the attached picture the engine light is yellow on the dashboard and my OBD. The extra info I can give are:
- My cambelt and water pump were replaced last year
- I hardly drive my car so the battery level is always on the low side and it often pop as a warning on my car status screen.
- It is showing the fault as passive

Two weeks ago I drove to a garage and after plugging their own system on the car told me it was nothing to worry about. The turned of the light on the dashboard but it came back this morning. My suspicion is that I should probably have a second opinion in another garage.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks

There is another semi-independent coolant circulation for the charge air cooler and it has its own water pump. The code seems to suggest problems with that pump.

It is true that the car wont brake without charge air cooling but it has less air and therefore less power without it.

And maybe it is better for the charge air cooler to have coolant circulating rather than standing still and possibly boiling, i dont know if this scenario is possible or just overthinking.

Thanks for the feedback @RattleWagon I think I am going to book an appointment to the garage as the light came back after clearing it with OBD eleven. There is definitely a cause here.
