Engine cover rattle, what glue?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Was getting some annoying rattling noises and as I've got LPG I was kinda sh*tting myself thinking there was something bad going on.

Nothing major, engine cover (the plastic) and the rubber insert on the passenger side under it (which sits into the engine cover and slots over the pin underneath) was loose.

Now I've managed to slam it down and it seems to have sorted it again for now, but beyond putting some tape around the rubber to thicken it, is there some heat-resistent glue that won't dissolve the rubber I could use instead?

It needs to be fairly robust as there is a fair bit of heat of course, and there is a sound absorbing foam (seat part) fitted too.which may be pushing upward slightly.

Apart from the panic thing from the LPG, I'd just like to sort it properly ;)

Bit of Araldite should be ok mate.
