Hi.

Sometimes when I turn my key the right wing mirror are folding forward.

I have to put it back using my hand.

The click is on different places all the time.

 

Is there a way to fix this or just turn the folding function off?

I dont need it more than I can do with my hands.

Sorry about the incomplete post. Laptop is old and does random things by itself.

The motor that retracts the mirrors may be sticking at a certain point. Similar to when the rear wiper sticks. Had similar on a seat altea. I disabled the auto fold option as the cost of a new aftermarket one was I think around £150 and that would need painted. Couldn't find a second hand one at the time. If it closes or opens with the key then it may be wiring/control problem.

I have same problem. Have ordered s/h off fleabay, will let you know if it works.

Second hand mirror fitted but needed coding to the car so had it done by local garage who had the diagnostic kit.

Works fine.- mirror was £135

Glad you got it sorted. Didn't realise they needed coded. £135 seems a fair price. At least you don't have the annoying fault anymore. Mine used to close up when driving randomly so disabled the folding option. Never did replace it as couldn't get one for my Seat in the same colour plus cars a work horse.

Interesting. How did you disable the folding function? I never use it and getting new mirrors and paint is not no1 for me as its mostly tight mirror but sometimes also the left.

 

Disable the folding is what I would like to do.

I can't remember if I accessed it through the settings mode on the car or if my local garage turned it off. I think the settings were under convienence/comfort control but you may need VCDS etc to access them.
