Fuse to use for connecting a 3rd party Carplay screen

Featured Replies

I purchased and installed a 3rd party Carplay screen and I am quite happy with it, with the only issue being finding the right fuse to use for it. The problem is actually coming from the S&S system, when using a fuse from the 29-37 range (ignition on only) the Carplay screen will restart after the engine is restarted as there is no crank protection. I can't use a live fuse because that will drain the battery, but is there a fuse that offers a crank-protected ignition on connection, or even a live connection with a short timeout after removing the key from ignition.

I was hoping that the fuse 50 used for the infotainment system will offer such a short timeout, but that might not be the case and the infotainment is shutting down by itself, with a longer timeout which will not be helpful in my case.

Any ideas on how to connect this without being impacted by S&S are welcome.
