I used the auto parking in the previous model about 5 times total. It was a bit primitive back then as you had to select forward or backward when prompted and press the throttle. It just seemed to autosteer on its own.

The current model looks a lot better. I have set the driveway (labelled it "Home") as a place for it to auto park into but not been brave enough to try it yet.

Hi @Novichok and the rest from this group, are you satisfied with your choice of engine ?

I'm in a similar dilema situation: 2.0 TDI 4x4 or 2.0 TSI 4x4

I'm currently driving a Seat Alhambra 2016, with 2.0 TDI engine and 184hp, so one side I'm used with how it performs ( and it will perform better on the superb platform ), on the other hand bying a new car with the sane engine as my 9 yr old one feels akward. The only doubt about the 2.0 TSI is teh consumption: although I don't calculate $ savings on fule consumtpion, I'm used with the diesel and the numbers I get around 7.5 on the highway with ~ 140-145km/h and around 8.5 in the city when there is traffic jam. Is it that much worse with the petrol enigne ?

Thanks in advance,

Yavor

Hi, my car arrived yesterday, the engine is quiet, smooth and very much suits the nature of the car. I couldn't stomach the tdi as it was at odds with a smooth quiet cruiser.

I've only driven short town journeys so far and the MPG is 31.8 over 100 miles. My expectation is that it should reach 40 MPG on a long motorway run. I will have an opportunity to test this soon.

Regardless of fuel economy, I'm pleased with the petrol engine and think it does add to the pleasure of driving the car.

@YavorB To give you an idea, the 2.0 TSI 4x4 engine typically consumes about 1–2 liters more than the 2.0 TDI 4x4 under similar driving conditions. For example, on the highway at a steady speed of 140 km/h, the 2.0 TSI 4x4 averages around 8–8.5 liters per 100 km.

The best thing you can do is take both versions for a test drive. That way, you’ll get a real feel for which one suits your driving style and preferences better. I faced the same dilemma myself, and in the end, I chose the 2.0 TSI and I’m very happy with it.

Same here. No dilemma which one to choose!

The right engine for that car is 2.0 tsi, no doubts.

Every time when I drive it, and just press the acceleration pedal, the smile is coming on my face. F*ck that 1-2 litters petrol on top...

More motorway miles completed. Here is the mpg update for 265 tsi. 589 miles at 40.3mpg

Im pretty happy with that. Cruise set to 70mph

Seems entirely decent for the performance. Sure not as good economy as a diesel, but considering the refinement and extra performance, not so far out of the ballpark.

It wouldn't let me edit the original post, so I added more info separately here:

More miles completed in the 265 tsi. The data above is two motorway runs and 2x shorter a-road commuter journeys. 589 miles at 40.3mpg

Im pretty happy with that. Cruise set to 70mph

Seems entirely decent for the performance. Sure, not as good economy as a diesel, but considering the refinement and extra performance, not so far out of the ballpark.

Other impressions are the tyre pressures are definitely not flattering the refinement of this car. I'll be dropping them to.2.5 bar tomorrow when my pressure gauge arrives.

Also, from my perspective, this is not a car that goads you to extract all the performance from it. But it does benefit from that sense effortless motion from not having to try too hard ever. The gearbox has been extremely smooth and intuitive. I was expecting worse after online reviews but no noticeable difference to the 8 speed torque converter in the 5 series.

Car is suitably anonymous in pebble silver. I'm ignored by everyone on the road..it's like a cloaking device. I guess it gives off that modern mondeo-man Senior Team Leader vibe!

The travel assist is very much a game changer for long motorway journeys. It reduces my effort burden by what feels like 50% so I arrive less burnt out the other side.

Personally I'm really enjoying the car. I'd say it's the best car I've owned. It's such a perfect tool for the job of driving from A to B in comfort while feeling special and looking ordinary.

Right, dropped the tyre pressure from 2.8bar to 2.5bar....

Wow! The transformation in the ride is night and day. It's now quieter and the ride feels less brittle over coarse tarmac.

THIS is the luxury ride I was expecting!

You can give it a try if you haven’t already, just go to the Drive Mode Selection menu, then to the DCC suspension settings. There’s one level softer than Comfort, and it makes the ride a bit smoother.

I'm already on full softness. Thank you!
