stupid rattle - drivers footwell

Featured Replies

Hey Guys have a real pita noise ive been chasing for awhile now originally thought it was my dmf but nope been replaced and still have the noise.

its a rattle/thump when starting that goes away after 20-30 seconds can hear it inside coming from drivers footwell (rhd market vehicle)

also occasionally getting it when slowing down noise isnt evident from outside the vehicle

have been checking for loose items left right and centre and im loosing my mind please help

Similar on 2012 1.tdi Greenline. Plastic protective panel had been damaged- possible jacking damage, enough to crack and fail some of the mounting lugs. Not hard to fix, but time consuming- mastic and self tappers as required. Flexing being issue.

Could also be fuel line rattle. They become loose and start rattling against the floor. Check the fuel lines underneath and if they're loose you can use zip ties to fix them into place.

Can second this, had the same issue on my Octavia and a seat Ibiza, the fuel lines come loose under the car as they go inside the chassis rail, u can stick foam above the pipes to stop them hitting which will stop the noise
