Skoda Yeti folding mirrors RETROFIT

Featured Replies

I have regular side mirrors with, I think, 7 wires (heated, dim function, puddle light, turn signal), but I want ones with a folding option, which have 9 wires. I will attach a picture of my door module.

My question is: Do I need to change my modules, or will this one work?

PS: in VCDS i see option for folding mirrors (now is off)

I take it your mirror control knob on the door does not have the manual fold position.

No, there isn’t. That isn’t a big problem because it’s only about 10 euros, so it’s not an issue to replace it. My biggest problem is the module— is it okay? I saw another post about retrofitting, but the last letter of the module was different, something like "C" or "D," while mine is "A." I don’t know if that letter means anything or not.

Thanks!

I doubt there are motors to fold the mirror in non folding mirrors. You will probably need to get hold of a pair of mirrors with motors then sort out the wiring - and that could be a real problem!

I'm really sorry, but I don't understand. Is someone playing with me or what?

No-one is "playing" with you. They are giving you advice.
If your car doesn't currently have electric folding mirrors then you will need to acquire a completely NEW set of mirrors that have the motors in them.

Yes, I understand that I need to buy new mirrors thay will not magically fold by themselves. Sorry for my attitude, but my question wasn’t whether I need to buy new ones—I already know that.

My question is:

Will my current door modules work with folding mirrors, or do I need to buy different ones?

Respectfully I suggest you do yourself a favour and stop trying to fix what isn't broken, it's likely to end in wallet depletion and tears!

I thought the OP was very clear in his comment that he intends sourcing folding mirrors:

The question is does such a beast exist for the Yeti, were they standard fitment on higher spec cars?

I found these, and I'll attach a picture. They're OEM, and this Yeti is the same year as mine. I'll buy them—they're around 100 euros, so not expensive, but I like them. I have to try them out, and if I need to buy the modules too, I will. It is what it is! 😁

A result, as they are shown on an early car there is a good chance that your door controller will be compatible, do your door looms contain the extra wires and have compatible connectors?

If it programs and works then great, if it doesn't then you need to find the part number and suffix for the high level one, if you have VCDS which you will need for the long coding then Ross-Tech will probably be able to give you the required info like they do for the steering wheel modules.

I really don’t know. I will find out in a few days and post an update.
