Karoq 1.6 desiel automatic a belt replacement

Featured Replies

Hi,

I live in Spain and have a 7 year old Karoq that has done 116,500 kilometres (73,000 miles)

does anybody know what Skoda recommend for the cam belt to be replaced, either length of time or mileage.

i now it used to be every 5 years but that has been changed

i have tried both Skoda Spain and UK  and not got nowhere with them

thanks in advance

If it’s never been changed I’d get it replaced, using the recommendation that was applicable when the car was built rather than the recommendation for cars built now. I’m old school preventative maintenance, incurr a small cost and avoid a potentially huge cost. After all a new belt will last at least another 7 years and 120,000 km.

If you write to Skoda customer services and quote your VIN, they will tell you when the cambelt needs changing.  I did this when I had my Octavia and Skoda changed the intervals a few years ago.
