Coolant leak, need advice!

Mk3 Tsi.

This hose is leaking where it clamps onto the plastic pipe - can this be repaired or do I need to replace?

Also,

what hose is this, struggling to work out what this one is called.

This pic is taken from below, you can see 2 hoses going Into a plastic Y piece next to the waterpump, it's the lower one that's leaking.

A couple of possibilities.

1) The rubber coolant hose as split at that point or the pipe work at split at the joint.

2) The coolant is dripping onto the pipe. Can you make sure it's not coming from the water pump.

Hi, It is 99% leaking from that under that hose clamp, there is no fluid at a higher point than that.

It's a plastic Y piece that comes off the waterpump, two hoses come off the Y, and it's the lower one that's leaking at the clamp, what is this lower hose called please, it seems to disappear towards the passenger side.

Thanks in advance.

I have had the odd spring clamp leak. Try and removing it and replacing with a decent stainless jubilee clip and see if it seals it. The clamps are  normally pretty good but if they have been removed and not put back exactly in the same position they can start to leak. Check the condition of the end of the hose as well. Sometimes if its damaged/split you have enough length etc to cut and reuse hose.

I normally split the jubilee clip and reassemble around rubber pipe first ,remove spring clamp and slide down over plastic y then replace with jubilee to save losing coolant. You may have enough length on plastic y to use both? If not in my case just left the spring clamp on the plastic pipe.

Hope that makes sense

Cheers, much appreciated.

Would you happen to know what the hose is I reference?

I'll try putting a jubilee on later, but would like to order a new hose in the eventually it needs changing.

Struggling to find a schematic with a part no.

Thanks.

Sorry can't help. Someone on here may have access to etka or similar or you could try the following. It might help. Look under engine group parts and scroll down to engine cooling diagrams. Not sure which engine you have and also make sure its for a RHD vehicle.
