Combi - Pressurised Cabin from A/C

Featured Replies

Morning All,

This is a weird one, I bought my 2020 Octavia VRS Estate at the latter part of last year and since I've owned it if the cabin fan is anything above 3 it will begin to pressurise the cabin to the point it hurts your ears from the sheer amount of pressure. If you press the recirc button the pressure goes instantly

You can also hear the air trying to escape from all the window seals around the car and it will actually pop the doors open if you opened it. My thoughts are there's an issue with the vents behind the rear bumper, but before I started stripping things down I wanted to just check to see if anyone else has experience this?

I agree.

Do you have any problems closing the doors with the windows raised?  Assuming that you are not a slammer!

Not especially, but I guess on a few occasions I have had to go and double check the door as its not shut properly. I think I'll pull the bumper off this weekend and take a look!

You can experiment opening and closing the drivers door from the drivers seat with the windows closed and cracked open, you should not experience any pressure change on the Eustachian tubes.

Removed the RH boot carpet and found the sound insulation material which is bonded to the back of the carpet had come loose and was blocking the vent. Removed that section and its now back to normal!
