Always loved that Octavia, well done mate.

Loving the ICE

Anymore info on the ICE, my main interest being the build as I'm only a few months away from starting a build!

  • Author

The ICE is set-up as an SQ (Sound Quality) system rather than an all out Sound Pressure Level (SPL) system.

Components include:

Pioneer P90RS headunit and processor.

0 Gauge cables from battery to distribution block, powering 3 DLS amplifiers

2x DLS A3's (mono-block amps to run the subs), 1x DLS A4 (4-channel amp running the front components).

CDT Eurosport 6.5" components in custom front door builds.

4 Genesis 12" Sudiophile subwoofers in custom fibreglass/mdf sealed boxes.

Pair of widescreen 6.5" monitiors in headrests and slim-line PS2.

Mountains of sound deadening!

I'm happy to answer any specific question if you need help.

I was going to say "nor a rock"

Looks good Si  I didn't believe your original post saying it was an SQ setup - always thought it was a boomtastic one, then saw the changed list of gear from what I remember it.

I'm looking forward to a listen next time :)

Looks like its had some changes since last time I saw it. Those alloys are very bling.

  • 2 weeks later...

Si's always had very bling alloys

Not always been on the car though - when they're not, they're being impecably cleaned :D

tidy :D

How did you attach the rear diffuser?

Nice car mate, saw you at Donny Show this year i think??? Was looking very sweet, nice one!

How did you attach the rear diffuser?

It's bonded on, though it took a few attempts to get it to stick.

It's best if you can get it on, tape it up so it won't come loose and then not drive the car for 24 hours or so so that it can stick.

Nice motor, glad it's all sorted again now though it must be said, will no doubt meet up again sometime

Bit of an update, I've done a bit of work over the past few weeks...:

I removed the rest of the rubbing strips from the doors and smoothed the front and rear bumper strips that were then painted.

Whilst they were being done I fitted a new grill which I got the garage to colour code and I fitted the mk2 vRS badge.

I've removed the rear vRS badge, the rear wiper and de-locked the drivers door.

Then I turned my attention to the engine and fitted the powder coated inlet manifold that i've had for a while. Whilst I was there I cleaned the throttle body and put a new Newsouth intake manifold gasket on.

It was you I spotted yesterday at Trax's then, recognised the car, but also saw your powder coated inlet manifold too, very smooth!

excellent...

The cars had a few changes over the winter, the biggest change being quite an obvious one!!

I was told i'd never get 9" wide wheels on the Octavia but seems like they were wrong :P

8" wide fronts and 9" wide rear 18" Mercedes-Benz polished wheels :D

Some photos taken at Ultimate Dubs this weekend (where it won the best Skoda award in the show and shine) and from the journey back:
