"P" button on left hand steering wheel stalk.

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have a Scala '21 plate 1.0 TSI 110 SE L (Right hand drive).

It doesn't have parking assist as far as I know. Nor does it have front parking sensors.

I was wondering what the "P" sign was for on the left hand stalk behind the steering wheel.

There doesn't even seem to be a button associated with it.

Hello, welcome to the forum.

I think that is for the left/right park light - to display side lights on just one side. That function is normally found on the indicator stalk. To confirm, does the stalk move up/down as well as forward/back?

Welcome.

Never noticed that.  But your PARKING LIGHTS require the indicator stalk up or down. Ignition off.  one front and one rear sidelight on,

Maybe one reg plate light.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it is the indicator stalk. I'll check when my partner returns with the car. I'm sure you're right about it being "Parking" lights. Cheers.

Thanks, Ootohere. I think you're right. I'll check it out. Thanks for the info.

I should've guessed really. VW have had this parking light system for decades!
