Iirc the cam angle sensor is on the front of this particular engine.

I was given the silicone heater hoses previously (off the same car) theyve gone on

Was told the NAs had that problem causing the hoses to rot.

Ill have the rocker cover off over winter so get new seals anyhow.

Ah - didn't know that they'd switched it around - it's at the back on my 1.8 and there's naff all room between the back of the head and the firewall to get at it, see to line it all up and then actually get it into place.

Camera is very kind to this car

New rad acquired and installed, easy job but not happy having to spend for one.

Used triple QX blue coolant for it. G12 seemed to be corroding some of the pipes.

All bled up fine, took for a run this morning to a car show.

Busy as usual but car drove great.

Brakes feel very good, handbrake too is very good. Quiet too. Took it up north to fill with 99, found one station in camlough that does it.

As usual much more hassle than i'd signed up for but its done.

Coolant temps staying solid, even the gauge on the cluster (which read hot almost instantly before) stays solid in the middle, even though it is basically a dummy gauge its nice to have it read normal.

Will need a bit of work for mot which is up in feb, not be using it till april on so aside from the chassis it should be ok.

20251229_185004.jpg

Needs a Y pipe, few bulbs *possibly wiring, rear fog switch etc nothing catastrophic aside from the chassis.

Probably shouldnt fail on it, i'll be doing some more undercoating anyhow.

Provided it passes mot i'll do belts and all after so im not sinking huge money into it beforehand.
