CCM Dead? VCDS no response

Featured Replies

Hi there.

So i have an 1.8T Octavia with sunroof and electric boot, 4 electric windows. Right before ariving at my home i've closed thw windows, opened the sunroof. Turned off engine. Now symptoms:

  1. I've turned the engine off and the doors did not open when i've took the key out, i have that 20kph autolock function on.

  2. The electrc boot does not open at all

  3. Can't close the sunroof

  4. Electric windows do not work at all.

  5. Checked boot loom, it was a pain to open the boot with a subwoofer in your way.

I've tried conecting to the CCM with VCDS, no response.

I've checked fuses, all good. replaced even, nothing changed.

I've even changed the CCM, i have a similar octy, same code (1C0 959 799 B), nothing.

Other northworthy info:

  1. I have an issue with the dome lights. the switch button fell off. but the coper plate remained there(where the spring is). That was the 1st item i've picked off thought it shorted something out. but nothing.

  2. The microswitch on the passanger side does not work, it did not work for about 7 years. I mean i think that is the microswitch, i have 3DcolorMFA which tells me what door is open and that door is not recognized at all, never was.

  3. I can close the car by closing it with the key on the driverside.

Any other suggestion what else to check? I think i'll take both door panel off tommorow to check the looms there as well

And does anyone know how to close the sunroof manually? There might be rain in the upcoming days in my area

Sunroof should have a manual crank under the front centre plastic cover which can be actioned with an Allen key, that is how it was on my MK1, it may even have had an Allen key clipped into the moulding.

Doesn't seem to have anything here

Looks like an allen key in white plastic section left of the sticker. Try turning it slowly.

My seat has the autolock on as well but its faulty and keeps clicking off and on as you drive. Think its wiring/contacts in the drivers door/handle. Never did work out how to disable it. Try switching autolock fuction off and see if it helps. It could be stuck in the lock position.??

Edit Have you another key. Might be worth trying it or replacing battery in fob?

I think the Allen key was in the cover you have removed, in any case you can see the hexagon on the motor worm gear, turn that carefully with your own Allen key.

Carefully in case I dreamed the whole thing because if that is indeed a worm drive then it may not turn without shearing the motor pinion, dependent on the lead angle worm drives are normally irreversible.

Another option would be to use a seperate 12v supply to the connector. You would need to know which wire is wich but it looks like three so I assume 1 is earth and the other two are open or close?

Edit

Had a quick look at haynes for my mk2 1.9tdi but no sunroof wiring diagram. Saying that all the earths shown are either black or brown in the wiring diagrams Maybe someone on here can tell you which wire does what.

Well I feel so stupid. It was a fuse after all. fuse Nr14, I've missed it somehow the 1st time I've looked at it. Changed and everything started working again. Now i just need to get the microswitches to get working. Which i understood is a pain to do.

Cheers

Your not the first one to miss a blown fuse. Keep a few spare in the car in case it happens again. Fuses will degrade over time and can blow sometimes for no reason. If it blows again then further investigation may be needed. Hopefully it was something simple like a frozen window etc.
