Hatchback rear wiper

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have hust ordered a Superb SEL hatchback from stock and didn't realise the rear wiper was an option. Having had rear wipers as long as I can remember on various cars will I find this a problem? I had planned to order an estate but couldn't get it under £40k and didn't want to pay the luxury car tax premium from year 2 onwards, and to be honest I don't actually need an estate. So as it is an option on the hatch I'm hoping it is not actually necessary? Can anyone advise please.

Thanks,

Dave

I find it necessary on my hatch to be honest - I have a dislike of not being able to see through the rear window clearly, and the natural airflow over the rear screen, even at speed (both Mk3 and Mk4), isn't enough to dislodge most of the water.

Thank you for the helpfull reply.

I have a mk3 facelift and ordered the rear wiper (free option). In over 80k miles I only ever use it so the rear camera gets a wash, if I didn't have it I wouldn't miss it.

Thank you for the helpful reply. I have been looking at various Superbs on the road and I can't see many signs that the wiper is used that often. I do like a clear view behind though so not sure if it's going to annoy me or not. Decided to proceed though so hopefully I won't miss the wiper.
