My previous forum post was about buying a Fabia estate, but I wasn't very lucky in finding one with low mileage. Instead, I drove a Skoda Octavia 2.0 CR TDI 140BHP, and I love it, so I decided to buy it.

There are a few things I've noticed about my Skoda. Firstly, as far as I know, the DLR (daytime running lights) are switched off for some reason. Additionally, I saw on a YouTube video that there are menu options accessible from the steering wheel, but I don't have that feature. Do these settings need to be activated using VCDS?

Also, when I put the car in reverse, the wing mirror doesn’t tilt down, and my speedometer only shows km/h. I would prefer it to display mph since I live in the UK.

How do I do this without the menu on the cluster?

Late facelift models such as mine (2012), and probably yours, came with DRL lights fitted but not active. The handbook shows how to turn DRLs on and off by using the left hand stalk BUT you first have to activate the system using one of these: [unfortunately the handbook note also uses the word activate when they mean switch on]

I used Carister software as it also allows some useful extra facilities also found on the more advanced display/steering wheel system.

By the same three routs you can change the country of use to set the kms/miles per hour etc.

I have purchased VCDS and the kit. I have switched the DLR on, auto-locked it when going above 10mph, and turned off the seatbelt chime.

Few still can't find it on 09 Cent. Elec.

Fog on when the main beam is on

All doors unlock, but my only unlocked door is the driver's door. Then I have to press the button under the handbrake to unlock all the doors, which is annoying.

I reversed the mirror down, I have ticked it active, then entered a passcode (on YouTube), it won't accept.

Any idea where to find (above list)
