Getting speed warning to work

Featured Replies

Hi

I amend here, having bought an Octavia iV a month ago. Slowly getting to grips with the Infotainment system to gt it to do what I want, but despite having highlighted Speed warning (audio and visual) in the Navigation app nothing seems to happen when I inadvertently exceed the limit. Am I missing something?

That should have started "I am new here".☹️

I think pre-FL cars don't have this feature of adjusting to speed limits, unless you are driving with Travel Assist engaged and the function is on in its settings. It does not depend on navigation settings I think, you'd need to look for it in assistant systems settings.

In the Navi Options you can activate a "beep" if you go over 5 or 10, but it uses the speed limits in the navigation maps.

the "Tone" comes out of the middle speaker, but I noticed with 1941 the first Tone sounded correct and all other after wheeler played through the speakers in the doors.

The Volume of this notification is connected to the Navi, so maybe ist just to low?

Thank you both. I don’t understand “pre-FL” or “1941”, but on my 2021 PHEV model it seems to be in the Route guidance sub-menu of Navigation settings, under Road sign settings. I have Show on map, Visual and audible, 5 mph selected. I have Navigation announcement settings turned off.

pre-FL means before the facelift O4, which will include your 2021 model.

1941 is the firmware version of the infotainment system, now superceded by newer versions which can be downloaded.

So my Display unit/control panel software is 2092, with no updates shown.

Do you mean the instruments/virtual cockpit by the steering wheel?

Ok, then I misunderstood the topic and confused the OP. I'll check that one on my car to see how it works.

That is what is shown on the Columbus Infotainment when I choose System settings then System information.

Device part number: 5E 3…..

Hardware: H56

Software: 1804

Display unit/control panel hardware: H47

Display unit/control panel software:2092

The important number is the 1804, which is pretty ancient.

2092 is just the software version of the display, not the actual "brain".

I think this is the Option you searching. Open navigation and then follow…Bildschirmfoto 2025-04-02 um 15.35.24.png

So is it possible to update the 1804 software? I have subscribed to Skoda connect so thought this would happen automatically.

There are two threads in this forum about later versions, please ask in one of those - I think with 1804 you may have to update in two stages to get to the latest.

OTA requires a later version than you have so the update won't be automatic.

Thank you all.

Navigation software did not work correctly on my 2021 car with out of date software I insisted that the dealer upgraded the software to version 1941 and then it worked consistently.

If you bought the car from a Skoda dealer as an official used Skoda then the dealer should have upgraded to the latest version, so take it back and insist they do it.
