Sticky leather on handbrake

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am preparing my daughter’s Monte Carlo with a deep clean before she gets it. The handbrake leather is super sticky, I have tried a mild soap, wipes, leather cleaner, IPA and LOTS of leather balm, but its still horrible - like sellotape sticky.

Can the leather trim be removed / replaced, as I can’t see how?many thanks!

Are you certain it's actual leather and not a rubbery faux leather?

It’s a Skoda so I doubt it’s been anywhere near a real cow 😂.

Either way, it’s a leathery finish, not standard plastic.

It's a plastic part. It is replaceable, or you can fit a sleeve around it.
