The Dreaded Infotainment Issues - New Problem?

Featured Replies

Bought my Mk4 VRS diesel in September 2024 thinking all the issues with the Infotainment system were sorted

I use my vehicle for work and as such often have to have 2 mobile phones connected - Iphone 13 & Iphone SE

One phone is connected by Carplay Wireless (usually) and the works phone by bluetooth

I have issues which started a couple of weeks after buying the car where the AI refused to engage and just shows the whirling circle, and also when using the inbuilt Sat Nav which whilst detailing the route refuses to give any audio announcements

I prefer wherever possible to use the inbuilt Sat Nav because it displays in the centre of the dash and also will mute when I am on either phone (This isn't possible when on one phone on a call and the other has Waze/Google Maps giving the voice route commands)

This issue resolved after an over the air update but after another couple of weeks has gone back to the same issues

I have tried the soft reset which didnt resolve anything

Any ides guys?

Can I update manually to the existing software version which is up to date

The car is still under warranty but Skoda dealer advised this is not a warranty issue and I would have to Pay!!!!!!

I know this does not help the infortainment side of things but why do you not log both phones on y Bluetooth ?

I have the car play so I can listen to music - Spotify

I used to have my music loaded onto an SD card under the dash in Mk3 & 3.5 but the Mk 4 doesn't have this facility

I did try loading onto a USB stick but wasn't impressed with the way it displays and how it has to be accessed

UPDATE

So took the car in for the first service and asked them to look over the issues advising I was aware some other users on this forum are experiencing the same issues

On collecting the car I was advised they have not rectified the issue and info9rmed me this may have to wait and see if this is resolved with another update but they have issued a report to Skoda

They did note on the service report that the issue may be due to the hard wired Dashcam that is wired into the fusebox, enquiring if the problem occurred prior to its fitting

I did advise that the issue occurred both before the dashcam fitting and re-occurred again after the OTA update

So will have to wait to see what Skoda advise when replying to the update

Update

So dealership got back to me following a reply from Skoda and asked me to bring the car in for a warranty repair

Well just got back from the dealership and Laura is talking to me again with sat nav directions

Skoda report states no fault found but infotainment system was given a hard reset and adapted address 19 of FES and software 1985 reinstalled

Let’s see how long this lasts
