Yeti screen issues and possible replacement

Featured Replies

Hey everyone.

I've been looking at various topics explaining issues regarding the touch screen and it's replacement, and I'm a bit on the fence one what to do with mine.

It has two issues as seen on my -pretty terrible- picture :

  • only the top stll works (probably because of the part touching the screen at the bottom (or is it a liquid ?)

  • the left part kinda freezes and part of it still appears when the display changes (a bit like screen burning because of fixed images)

I would suppose changing the whole thing would be the only option, but I'd like to hear the thoughts of people who had similar issues.

I live in a pretty remote area, there aren't any Skoda distributors in my region, support can be given by the VW dealer about 120 km away but it's only basic stuff so I'll have no help there.

Since I'm currently in Europe for a few weeks, my goal is to get a replacement screen delivered if necessary while I'm there (sending it at home would be much more complex)

I've seen that quite a few people replace their display with an android one for a cheaper price than the original one. I was wondering how to ensure those are compatible with the built-in rear camera. Quite often, description mentions one can install a camera and they encourage you to buy one, but there's no point for me to change the camera unless necessary.

On the whole, I'd be glad to have suggestion on fairly basic screens (radio/rear camera/bluetooth/phone) that could work well (bonus navigation with custom roads, regular service being incomplete here).

Thanks in advance for your help !
