Does anyone know what this is?

Featured Replies

Just above the satnav screen, and to the right of the clock, there is a green emblem, similar to a mobile phone signal strength indicator. I have tried uploading a photo but, right now, technology is defeating me.

Just recently, during a 300+ mile journey, I started losing "bars" and the symbol eventually turned red.

The following morning, the symbol was green again and all of the "bars" had returned.

I'm sorry that this is all rather vague, but I'm hoping that someone might be able to tell me what might have happened.

TIA,

Ken

This is the original MIB you have fitted?

As far as I know it is the original, numskull.

My best guess is that it is the battery level of your mobile phone, which is Bluetoothed to the car.

Did you charge it overnight by any chance? :-)

Hi Cardo, I think you may have found the answer.

My phone is indeed Bluetoothed to the car, and I had been unable to charge it up the night before.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest; I feared that it was a sign that the car battery was going flat, during a 300+ miles journey. Possibly something relating to the key fob battery.

Yep it’s the battery level of your phone

We had a power cut last night, and so I was unable to charge up my phone. Battery capacity was down to 5%, and the car flashed up a message "Ken's A14 battery is almost empty". The symbol had turned red, and A14 is my phone. It's nice to know that my car is looking out for my phone!

It's a shame that it can't monitor and report on the car battery in the same way. We just have to monitor all the possible related errors to try and work it out.
