Skoda Octavia Elegance 1.6 petrol Tiptronic gearbox is not correctly displaying the current gear on the instrument cluster. Showing PRNDS all highlighted, no matter which gear the car is driving in, not even changing when in manual mode. The car is driving perfectly with no over-revving or showing high petrol usage, looks just like a display problem. Could this be just a bad connection, or is it more ominous? 115,000 miles on the clock, 2006 registration.

    Did read a while ago similar problems. Think it was due to bad connection or dampness in wiring to Gearbox ECU which from memory is under drivers side carpet. Post I read was that water can get in and wet carpets etc and cause corosion at connections.
