Ok I know problem lies with the recirculation motor. It's original and not been charged.

But I have a few questions if anyone can help.

  1. Can the motor be repaired? This would save cost and VCDS (which i don't have)

  2. Is it possible to access after taking out the glove box?

Thanks for any input. I'd like to try to fix the original if possible as often repairs can be stronger than original.

Cheers

I don't know how helpful this is but I've used Recirc twice in 19 years: both times when going to be stuck behind something with a blue smoke exhaust for several miles.

Yes i hardly used either. Just i was reversing with air conditioning on and this activated the recirculation.. which is now stuck on. So no fresh air in the cabin.

check out this (not very helpful) video on disassembling the recirc motor by me: https://youtu.be/7o2NmnoSGek

long story short: there is a broken tooth on one of the cogs. i ended up getting a different motor from a scrap car.
