How can i lock my skoda Octavia Mk2 i.6

Featured Replies

When parked at night my car has randomly decided to start flashing all lights as if the alarm has gone off. (fortunately the alarm has never worked) for no apparent reason, the road is quiet and there are no villains around according to my CCTV. How can I lock the car without the alarm?

There should be a button low down on the driver's side B pillar (between the front and rear doors). If you press this before locking the car it will disable the internal alarm sensors until the car is next unlocked.

Doing that will stop most 'thermal settling' car alarm incidents.

Try pulling fuse 35 5Amp that is for the alarm.

On my old mk2 the interior sensor I think near the light in roof/sunglasses holder was dusty. I hoovered it and alarm stopped going off.

The likely cause of the alarm going off is the internal alarm battery is nearly dead and is not holding the charge from the main battery.

Pulling the fuse should work after a few days when the alarm battery goes flat.

Thank you everyone, that little switch on the door pillar has bugged me for a long time not knowing what it does, click and fingers crossed, the problem seems to have been resolved.

I will hoover the sensor next time I'm cleaning the car as well.

Fortunately the alarm has never worked( although the lights flash) since I purchased it at 7000miles.

Ironically, It it had its MOT yesterday and the only recommendation was to change the front indicator lamps as they were "partially burnt"(my words not the MOT inspectors).

Once again thank you everyone who responded it is much appreciated.

I hope the MOT guy was referring to the orange colour fading on the bulbs and not the unit itself. Had MOT yesterday as well with no advisory so happy today.
