Thule Wingbar Evo (length?) + 4 X 598s

Featured Replies

Hello all 👋

I have a Kodiaq SEL 1.4 Petrol (20) and am looking to get Thule Wingbar Evo bars as well as 4 x Thule ProRide 598s. On most websites it recommends that the bsr length should be 118cm however not sure I can fit 4 bikes on that and was thinking of going with the 127cm bars (recommended for the MK2).

I am looking for any thoughts and experience from folk who have this set up as I need to be able to carry 4 bikes. I have looked through the forum and can't see anything on this topic but please let me know if I have missed something.

Thanks in advance.

It's perfectly doable with the 118cm bars - I did exactly this on my first Kodiaq. Simply alternate the direction the bikes face so you have two facing forward and two facing backwards.

Admittedly, this was with 2 x adult bikes a 2 x kids bikes. With four full-on adult MTBs it might be a little more tricky...

Brilliant - thank you for the feedback. Sounds like I may get the 127cm to give me a little more space but great to know that it'll work with the 118cm bars.

With 2 bikes facing forward and 2 bikes facing backwards, removing the pedals may also help saving the very last centimeters. 😉
