Long story shortened, front wipers weren’t working. I’d popped the bonnet to back the car into the garage, half way in discovered no front wiper function - it was piddling down. After a few moments of panic (coming from LRs anything like that is normally a precursor to a big bill), fully closed the bonnet and wipers worked. Phewwwww, wipers don’t work with bonnet “popped”.

Wouldn’t know about it if the bonnet opening no wipers thingie had the release lever been on the driver’s side, where it should be. Single width garage so no way to open the bonnet once parked, plus she’ll be laid up for a week or three so goes on CTEK.
