This is an image from a listing of a 2008 Octavia Vrs. It has an interesting information, the cardinal direction shown on the display alongside a sugestive arrow. I am curios if it is possible to activate it (and others if there are) on my non-Vrs, also 2008 Octavia. Thanks.

If you have a maxidot dash cluster, installing a factory sat nav will send that that data to the cluster.

It's also possible to just install the compass module separately.

Whether you'd be able to find one and the associated wiring is a different matter.
