Dash top mount thing

I’ve seen lots of info about the original dash top GPS unit and how it is obsolete and not worth it. I have a 2015 SE with the original type mounting location and blanking plate. I’d really like to use this for something modern, like a Carpuride unit. If needs be I’d just run an AUX outlet to the stereo and therefore have Apple CarPlay available for GPS, music and so on.

Has anyone modified/butchered the original mount to accept something modern? I assume there is a power feed in there which could be tapped to run a new unit. Also, is there a source of the early mounts? I can’t find one anywhere.

Hey. I have a 22 model without original amp and sub, so its not the amp that overheats.. it keeps turning the volume up and its f .. annoying. Anyone have this problem??

Hi All, I have recently inherited a 2015 Skoda Fabia from my late Grandad, at current it has the Bolero (I think) 5Q0035820. I have been told in order to get Android Auto I should upgrade this to the 5Q0035842. To do this is the only thing I need to change the box behind the glovebox or do I need to change the screen as well. Additionally I have found a listing for a 5Q0035842B from a Skoda Octavia, am I correct in thinking this will work in my Fabia.

Well strange predicament due to dads age and alzheimers diagnosis he shifted his car to me. Pretty damn nice car 1.8T DSG 2014 less than 20k, packed with as much as mine has and more besides like adaptive cruise, folding mirrors. Not sure I need 2 though longer term tho....useful for now though as my petrol vRS similar vintage really could do with a clutch <80k miles so I am grateful for it regardless ! Not exactly the slow option either, obviously not quite as good as a 2.0T but better eco

Good morning everyone, I need your help resolving an issue I can't seem to resolve, even with the help of Skoda customer service. I purchased a Superb Style, registered in Italy in 11/2024 (steering wheel with Skoda logo, not lettering), with the Lounge Design setup (the seats are electric except for the forward movement which is manual and does not have position memories).
