Skoda estelle 130 is a y2k felica 1.3 mpi a possible swap help needed please ap?

Featured Replies

Hi I have a skoda estelle 130lse with the 5 port engine, 5 spd box, recently seen a good low mile felica 1.3mpi lump, need help from those in the know

Is it a straight forward swap

Can I use tge felicia engine with the ecu? Or can I run it on my 130 inlet carb & exhaust manifold?

Or could it be run otherwise, custom inlet bike carbs, mega jolt etc

Any help I'd be very grateful as I'd rather stick with the skoda lumps

If not was thinking of the rover k series swap?.

If I could find I 136 rwd I'd be happy with that but can't find one or favorit engine

Any suggestions or help massively appreciated I font know enough to know I'm buying the correct engine with the felica? I read early ones will go in but I whink that's using 136 inlet, carb & , ex mani? Please help me out guys

The Felicia MPI engine is based around the same block as the older Favorit and 136 rapid engines, but there are some differences; mainly the Felicia engine mount is built into the water pump housing at the top of the engine: the Estelle engines mounted lower, onto the frame that formed the rear body panel. Secondly, the MPI engine is distributorless: there is normally a drive gear fitted inside the timing chain cover, but you would have to check whether your Estelle distributor would mesh properly, but otherwise you should be able to get the MPI running on a carburettor/distributor/coil system with a shallow adaptor between inlet manifold and carb.

For the full MPI system you would need an ECU: aftermarket or standard: possibly with the front half of the Felicia wiring loom fitted to your car, as a lot of the electrical connectors are Felicia specific (VW).

Good luck
