1.3 MPI Pickup increased ride height of the rear?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am looking to raise the rerar of this pickup.
Could it be done with 1.6 springs?
IF I have somewhat correct info about the aftermarket springs, the 1.3 MPI would have shorter springs?? About 360 mm and 1.6 would have 419 (Monroe).
Or, are there reinforced springs to be found somewhere?
Owner wants me to but spring clamps on raise the heght.....

Unloaded spring height is only one part of the matter as to ride height, then of course with a pick-up there's load on deck to consider too.

Raising the rear could have the front dipping.

Thing is why do you want to raise the rear, is the pick-up sitting at factory level or are rear and/or front springs and suspension partly or all worn, and are the correct suspension parts fitted correct and fitted correctly.

I checked the factory manual, it doesn't say anything about different springs on the rear axle. However, 419mm length sounds like a passenger Felicia spring. Pickups have different rear axle with 340mm springs... The 1.3/1.6 will be likely different stiffness, but same ride height.

I found some inserts designed for Pickup, however they are not road legal.
