Speaker distortion - No issue with the speaker

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My rear right speaker has distorted from my first day of ownership (I'm not the first owner). I suspected a blown speaker so went ahead and purchased the Focal plug and play replacements. Unfortunately, the issue is still there. This is at all volume levels. I also checked the connector at the rear of the control unit but everything seems secure. I have no idea where to look next to try and determine what could be wrong. Are there any auto electrical or audio gurus out there that may have some thoughts?

I had a similar issue and on inspection I found that the plastic ring/ shroud around the speaker and between the the door card had worked loose and was reverberating at the lower Base notes. This was on the nearside front door.

Having pushed this back into place all was ok

Unfortunately not the issue I’m faced with. Having changed the speaker, the problem is still present.
