Over the last few weeks I've noticed there's quite a lot of play developing with the gear lever when in gear is this normal or does the car need that part fitted in the recall.....Vibration??...not quite sure which bit it is .............anyone ..thanks Andy

It may be that just an adjustment to the cables is needed - a 10 minute job at a friendly dealer when they are quiet.

I've got the modified part on mine. It's a balance weight on the mechanism which stopped the vibration for 15000 miles or so, but now it's back.
