Aftermarket Digital Cluster Options for Octavia Mk2 - Largest Found So Far (10.25")

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've been looking into aftermarket digital instrument clusters for the Octavia Mk2 (2008-2013).

From what I've found, the biggest size available for our model seems to be 10.25" - here's one example I found on aliexpress I just found this on AliExpress: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EQLM6Bs

The seller told me that the 12.3" model they sell is actually for the Octavia A7, not the Mk2. They also mentioned that manufacturers are working on a larger version for the Mk2, but no release date yet.

Has anyone here tried the 10.25" cluster, or have other recommendations?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

To be honest, I didn't know such a thing existed. I have never read any forum post about replacing the analogue cluster with a full digital display. It would be great if it could be done.

If you do go ahead with this a write up would be well received.

Blimey. That's a bit "Fancy Pants". 😁

I should imagine the wiring would be challenging to say the least.

I was also a bit put off by the disclaimer that states "This product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm."

As it's US based I'm guessing they poo their pants over the slightest risk though and have to cover their asses from predatory lawyers.

I'd be interested in any progress you make on this (being the owner of a MKII myself). 👍

I actually bought a similar unit from an AliExpress seller for a friend’s Golf Mk7.5, and it was super straightforward. It’s basically plug-and-play: you take the motherboard from your original cluster, place it into the new frame they send you, and then connect the plugs.

They provide a three-point plug – one end goes to the old motherboard (now in the new frame), one to the new screen, and one to the car. No custom wiring needed at all.

What really fascinated me was the quality of the screen – the sharpness, colors, and overall clarity are excellent. Even better, the dashboard itself supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly, which I think is insanely cool for a retrofit.

I’ve placed the order for my Octavia Mk2 Once it arrives, I’ll share my installation experience here along with some photos.
