infotainment fabia 22 plate

Featured Replies

Who else is having a problem with the display on their mk4 Fabia, as keeps going blank then comes back to life after a couple of minutes. This is when i listen to a flash drive & when i have attached a phone for google maps. Have taken to my local Skoda dealer to which they have had codes from Skoda to which no avail. Is Skoda going to sort this or is there a fix.

This late-2024 forum discussion mentioned the screen going blank on a 2023 Fabia Mk 4 Monte Carlo model (I believe you have a 2022 version)

A Fabia Mk 4 can have three different infotainment units (Swing, Bolero or Amundsen). I don't know if the unit used in your Fabia model has proven to be particularly problematical, but complaints about the infotainmemt unit's 'glitchiness' have been commonplace since the MK 4 was first marketed.

If your car's screen always goes blank whenever you listen to a flash drive or attach a phone for GOOGLE maps, it might be possible to diagnose exactly where the problem lies. But if the screen blanks out only occasionally when you do those things and your local Skoda dealership has investigated and (presumably) applied software updates to try to correct the issue and this hasn't improved matters, I'm doubtful much more can realistically be done.

While your car is still under warranty, you could insist your dealer have another go, but Skoda may well be unwilling to authorise significant hardware replacement (eg. fitting a new infotainment unit) if the screen blanking is sporadic and cannot easily be demonstrated.

Hi I have a monta Carlo fabia 2022 had a similar problem where the infotainment system on startup would turn on and off and be stuck for 2 minutes until the screen reboot which was annoying after many trips to the dealer the changed the infotainment head unit which fixed the issue

hi everyone my local Skoda dealer has finally sorted the problem of the faulty infotainment module and as a good will gesture been given 90% off, hopefully this is going to iron out the problem. Shame this does not come under recall as this occurs on many models.

I also had this issue

Dealer should first try software updating

If it won't help (which most likely won't)

They need to replace the information head unit

I understand, then I have to go to the dealer. Thanks for your information

You need to keep on to the dealer with videos of the problem help. my dealer was very good it is Skoda. I just could not see them resolving the problem and have just purchased another make of car. Good luck.
