Kamiq 2021 1.5 clutch issues

Featured Replies

Hello,

I bought what i thought was a good deal in January 2025 a 3 year old Kamiq with 12K miles on it however inside of 3 months and less than 800 miles added the clutch went EG master cylinder clutch bearing etc( driving along went to change gear and an almight Cracking sound occured then couldnt change gear or even depress the cluth pedal)

While thank fully this was fixed under warrantee I now have been driving along happily when i heard another crack and my clutch pedal refuses to return to its normal place, its so high in the footwell i feel i need a lift up to reach it.

I have taken it back to the same garage who now tell me a plastic bush has broken and they may have to take off the pedal box to fit a new bush.

This sounds either a bit shifty or very bad design so please any assistance in working whether this breakage is feasable would be appreciated as i have no knowledge in this modern world of gearboxes give me an old model mini and i will be happy

Regards

I don't think this is odd.

You don't know how the clutch was used in those 12k miles before you bought the car. The fact that the failure you had was so big leads me to think the clutch had 12k miles with a gorilla, or maybe several gorillas, stamping on the pedal. I'd personally ask for the gearbox to be checked as well.
