Query - 2025 Superb Estate PHEV vs Kodiaq PHEV Boot Dimensons

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Long story short - I need a family car with 130g CO2 emissions or lower (car allowance from work). I currently drive a Seat Ateca but could do with some extra boot space, and leg room in the rear, for two toddlers and trips away!

I've looked at the Kodiaq and Superb Estate over the weekend and am leaning towards the Superb for more leg room in the back, but neither were PHEV. I wondered if anyone with either car would be able to have a quick measure from the boot floor to the parcel shelf?

I have a rough measure of 45cm in the Kodiaq and 56cm in the Superb. The Kodiaq has more height if packed to the roof, but I like keeping the parcel shelf on (I'm weird, I know!). My Ateca is 64cm. It looks like I am trading height for depth which may not actually provide much more space (I think on litres the Ateca is 510, Superb is the same and Kodiaq is 745 but thing is, where's the space? Is it to the roof, the parcelshelf, does it include all the nooks and crannies etc so what's actually a practical upgrade, hence measuring).

Does the 5 seater Kodiaq have more rear leg room than the 7? I'm reading different opinions on this online. For reference, I have 22cm space from the back of the driver's seat to the edge of the rear bench in the Kodiaq, 26cm in the Superb and 21cm in the Ateca. Pretty important for space for the child seats!

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Your location shows Essex. Is it not worth going looking at the different cars?

Hi,

There's a 5 seater Kodiaq about an hour away that I found on Skoda's Used car search. Not so much luck with Superb Estates. I'm the Suffolk side so what was available is too far really. I thought about Passats to compare but the car is smaller so not ideal.

I will need to track some down eventually for a test drive!

Rough measures if anyone in the future is in the same boat;

Kodiaq 7 Seater

111cm deep

100cm wide (125cm at highest point)

50cm high to parcel shelf

Kodiaq PHEV

101cm deep

100cm wide

50cm high to parcel shelf

I gained 5cm in rear seat space between the 7 seater and the PHEV. I am also wondering what position the middle row was in when I measured the boot of the 7 seater.

Superb MHEV

116cm deep

101cm wide

56cm high to parcel self

The Superb had 3cm less space in the rear (behind the driver seat), but I made further adjustments to the seating position and believe it will be atleast equal to the Kodiaq PHEV.
