Rear door - leaking gunk

Featured Replies

Hey,

With this hot weather and my fabia vrs sitting outside all the time, it appears to have melted some kind of wax / sealant. When i got to the car this morning, there was a pool of what looks like yellow wax on both sides of the rear doors along the sills. I presume its probably run down from either the door mechanism or from around the doors. Has anyone else had this in the hot weather?

Cheers

Rico

My old octavia did this, and there was a mention of it in the octavia manual. Its the excess wax they use for rust proofing draining out once its melted. It does settle down eventually though, just make sure the drain holes are clear of it once the weather cools down.

Mine too, cleaned it all up once but now it's doing it again.

Originally thought it was water as the doors were "bound to be leaking"

So long as there's an excess in there, I don't intend to worry.

J.
