New settings are now available for your user account. Would you like to apply them?

Featured Replies

This has started to pop up every time I start my Mk 4.5…”New settings are now available for your user account. Would you like to apply them?”

I also saw this message from time to time on my Mk 4.

Selecting cancel just means it prompts again, and selecting ok changes some of my settings in an odd way - e.g., resets my climate control. It’s not the same settings changed each time you hit ok. Today it swapped Travel Assist to Adaptive Cruise. It also seemed to randomly change settings on my Mk 4 in the same way.

Any ideas?

I have the same "problem" on my Formentor facelift (same HW and basically the same software behind the UI). On average it "offers" the new settings about once a week; and yes, if you ignore it, it will keep popping up at each new start of the car. In my case it only changes the color of the ambient lights and the setting of the headlights sensitivity to "Medium" (I prefer to keep it on "Late").
It seems it imports the set of settings from the server; what I can't understand is why the car doesn't update the modified settings on the server. Once I change whatever I want to change, I go to User, select mine and tap "sync settings" - that should upload the new set to the server...
I had a trip to the dealership (for a different issue) and also told them about this problem. They said they never heard anything similar (sure - we've all heard this argument before), they have no idea how to tackle it and they also concluded: "But it doesn't seem to be such an important problem - just ignore it and keep driving!"

Yes it’s mildly annoying…interesting that it’s happened on both my cars suggesting a server or account problem potentially.
