Would 003300 Fault code display and engine warning light

Featured Replies

Hi

Just had a Carwow buyer come round to look at my car after successfully bidding on it, He showed me a picture of some fault codes although not the actual fault code reader, " of the faults P003300 and P001600 seem serious, should these show and engine warning light?

I have no fault codes when I use my OBD reader reader although it's a cheap one and no engine warning lights and the car drives nice and smooth.

2014 Fabia VRS

I this a scam to get a lower price?

Thanks all

Hello, welcome to the forum.

As you, I'd be a little suspicious - I think either of those faults, if genuine issues, would give some indication.

I'd think the P003300 (Turbo bypass valve) would light up the EPC indicator - and possibly force limp mode, and P001600 (Crank or Camshaft position sensor) would cause difficult starting at least.

Did you actually see him lift those DTCs?

I'd suggest getting your vehicle scanned independently.

Thanks, I did not see his reader at all, only a picture of it he sent me.

Getting it checked somewhere else today.

I'd say that sounds highly suspicious - if your independent check proves the faults are not present, please report the incident to Carwow as attempted fraud.

Codes were confirmed but odd there is no engine warning light, maybe the bulb has gone

Did that confirmation come from an independent scan?

Do all the warning indicators light up correctly on pre-start check?

Were they possibly historic?

I'd suggest simply clearing the current DTCs and see if they return.

Hi, yes was an independent scan, I will have to go check when I start it to see if the light does come on

We have cleared them and will see if they they pop back up
