Need to find where is central temp sensor G191 (Climatronic) for replacing.

Featured Replies

Hi! i'm new to this forum and this car model.

Climatronic unit doesn't switch on the AC compressor relay. I checked with vag-com a found that the central air vent sensor (G191) shows -53ºC, it's maybe open circuit so i need to replace the sensor. Other two sensor shows the correct temperature.

I've confirmed this theory disconnecting the foot vent sensor (just to see what happens) and shows also -53ºC when circuit is open or sensor not present, ok so i need to replace to central vent temp sensor.

I know that Climatronic won't start cooling if temperature inside car is below zero, even with the other two sensor showing 26ºC.

I've used the forum search but didn't find anything about G191.

According to he workshop manual G191 sensor is located on right side of central air vents, but i don't find, in my case the sensor it's not there. Asked chat-gpt, and other forums and don't find any solution. I've been more than one month working on this and a bit desperate.

Any of you had the same problem? Thanks.
