What is this for?

Featured Replies

First time I’ve noticed this on engine shutdown. The ability to shut off the interior monitoring I understand, but what is the pencil for on the same page? Please let me know as I don’t fancy scrolling the owners manual screens…

Nothing happens when I select the pencil, but it must do something! So confused…

Might be to remember (or write down) the setting.

A pencil symbol like that is usually to enter the 'Edit Screen' mode. It's use full to change the Home Screen - but the system needs to be on (ignition at least, no need for engine to be running). Thus I assume the button is there but not active because it's shutting down - another example of 'Simply Clever' software coding? 😉

Okay, I’ve discovered that if you tap the pencil, it allows you to drag the “Interior Monitoring” bar down the screen… and it promptly returns to the top! I’m guessing that if they are multiple bars on the shutdown screen in future that this will allow you to change the order in which they appear on the screen. Mystery solved.
