Vibration when excelarating over 60 mph

Featured Replies

My 2016 superb 4x4 estate vibrates through the floor while excelarating over 60 mph .no steering wheel shake .wheels are all balanced .as soon as l let my foot off the gas it stops .

No steering wheel implies the rear rather than front wheels.

Have you had any work done?

Yes it’s in the garage now and the guy says there is up and down movement in the front drivers side driveshaft but carnt be sure if it’s that.its £479 for a new one but cannot get any through main dealers there is no stock anyware.and I don’t want to fork out that amount if it’s not that.thanks

A driveshaft could very well produce such vibration (just had a mate replacing the front one on his Def 90), and as "power induced" would stop when the driving force (engine power) stops. Not having a clutch we cannot try it otherwise ...

How much is the mileage?

Since this is not a very high demand item, I guess the price is high ... you could try to source one a second hand from a breaker, cheaper than the new option eventually?

It’s done 125’0000 trying to find a secondhand one but it has to be the same part number . The price for a new one is £479 but cannot get one as their on back order from Skoda . Going to try and locate one on Monday .

When did you last service the Haldex? If it's working hard it can make a bit of a racket through the floor.

Haldex was done 2022 and will be done at it’s service end this month, service dates and interval times have been done under Skoda guidelines as with all other oils and services,

That might have something to do with it - if the pump hasn't been pulled and had the gauze cleaned it's almost certainly covered in rubbish by now. It's not part of the normal Skoda service routine but it's a necessary job that most specialists would do as a matter of course.

Driveshaft coupling needs inspected closely.
