2024 Facelift Octavia Dash Rattle

Featured Replies

Hoping someone can help. I got my 2024 facelift Octavia last year on one of the cheap lease deals, and I cannot cope with the rattling dash any more!

Initially we thought it was just the screen so put a blanket behind it which seemed to help, but there is another rattle that sounds more like it’s coming from down in the steering column area somewhere.

Does anyone else have the same issue and have you been able to find a solution? I’m quite happy to get the sticky back foam out but I need to know where it should go.

My FL is as quiet as a mouse rattle wise and long may it stay so.

I know on the earlier Mk4's some people had a rattle coming from the centre speaker in the dash, think from memory it was the speaker grille/cover, so that might be worth investigating. Rattles are hard to pin down.

On the mk4 pre-fl it was common for the engine fake induction sound in sport mode to cause rattling / vibration sound.

Ah yes, that was it - couldn't remember the details.

I asked the dealer to switch it off permanently which solved the noise issues in the cabin, but leaves the car very very quiet due to the exhaust being so restrictive.

Thanks all, centre speaker is fine and no driving modes on mine. Will keep pressing on random panels as I drive!

As CS says, hard to pin down.

OP, can you take it on a test drive at your local Dealer to see if they can recitfy?

I had a rattle and it drove me nuts to weeks trying to pin it down. Turned out is was my sunglasses in the roof holder. The sound seemed to come from the glovebox
