Take it that was the Aventura? :D

Is the Ford Ranger also up for consideration?

I think it was the '**** Extension' edition ;)

Wait til Jan and get the 3.0D4D Hilux - it's the engine from the Land Cruiser. Best wait til then or you be stuck with one with quite a bit less grunt than the Navara or even the L200

Yeah, that was the one I was looking at... :sofahide:

Ditto :D

Landlord has one, but he reckons it is more thirsty than his old Hilux, but nicer to drive

but nicer to drive

It's all relative. A decent car is far nicer to drive!

Reviews seem to suggest the Navara is the best of the bunch at the moment...wonder if there'll be some decent discounts on the old HiLux soon then... :rubchin:

That's what I suggested to my Boss.

The Ford Ranger is quite a bit cheaper, and being a Ford should be fairly cheap to run. Reviews seem to suggest it is quite agricultural to drive tho'...think the Navara is a more attractive package though...

The Ranger looks like a fairly old design

Hmm...it might be, not sure - though most of the technology on these types of things isn't cutting edge anyway... ;)

Looking at the current Hi-Lux though, by the time you're up to comparable spec for the Ranger the Hi-Lux isn't much different in price...

It might be a bit thirsty though....

Have a look at Bauer Millet's website...they've got a few of these sorts of things (and slightly larger!) in stock... :D

Nissan Navaras are nice and handle well. The Cyprus National Guard uses them for transportation simply because they are so reliable as a truck, a real quality item.

Mate uses one to tow trailers. etc. Crewcab one with only 2 doors and fold down back seats as it means more pick-up space. Decent enough engine with a fair amount of torque. Seems to do the job. :)

It's fairly academic, but does anybody know the true maximum speed of a Navarra? The handbook claimed 105mph, but the salesmen told us that it was actually much higher. I suspect that it's somewhere in between.

Aerodynamics didn't seem to hinder acceleration on the motorway.

If I had the money i'd get one of these.
