Late 2019 Skoda scala 1.0 DSG Gearbox issue

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Wife's Scala made an unusual noise from the gearbox whilst pulling of from a roundabout, same day message on dashboard read economy tip, keep gearbox in Drive, which it was. Both issues within 10 minutes of each other. Been OK since. No issues. Scanned for codes, nothing, however g/box annalisys shows about 2000 unsuccessful gear changes in all gears, higher numbers in gears 1 and 2.

Any ideas? Mileage is low, car is on 29k

Thanks

Check for leaks of the gearbox oil.

Do you do a lot of short trips?

Might be worth having gearbox oil and filter changed.

Hi, bit of a mix of long and short drives tbh, it's the wife's car, never been abused and very gently driven. I'll have a look next dry day for leaks, if nothing I'll service the gearbox and report back, hopefully it's not damaged.

There is no filter to change. There are 2 oil,s in the box and in the MCU. Best have an Auto Specialist that knows about DQ200,s rather than a Main Dealer check it out.

Pretty sure there is a filter somewhere in the gearbox itself. Might be in the MCU. There is no service procedure for it but if it gets blocked it can cause issues and lead to failure. This is very well documented on the internet. Poor shifting comes up again and again as a symptom.

@Aldfort Yes sorry. But that is not done by doing the oil change you suggest. Expect 1 litre out the MCU when draining that. 1.7 out of the gearbox. Did you edit out something about 1.9 litres not being expensive?
