Hi All,

My usb port is broken and i need to replace it but don't know how to remove it, it's the one with the cigarette lighter directly above it and no headphone jack.

Any help would be appreciated, I assume I have to remove the whole ashtray portion ??

Hi There,

It’s easy to just pop the little panel out - go back through “what have you done today” thread and you’ll see a photo from when I replaced mine due to it have a cigarette cherry melt in it!

What did you use to pop the panel out? I'm going to need to replace the port itself, does it have a specific part number etc? or can you advise where to get one

I popped the panel out with my fingers, it’s just clipped in, so a little bit of gentle persuasion here and there and it just pops out.

I got it used from eBay, a little over £20 with the USB socket and cigarette lighter intact, so just needed to disconnect the plugs and reconnect to the replacement.

Just do a search for ŠKODA Superb USB port and loads will pop up, some had detailed photos, so if you look at those, it’ll give you more of an idea of how it’s clipped in 😊

Many thanks, popped it out this morning and it looks like you can just replace the usb port alone, it does mention in some ads the need to re code ? did this appen with you ? Alo all the ones coming up seem to have a little headphone jack that mine doesn't have?

Hi Damian,

Good stuff, pleased you were able to pop the panel out.

No coding needed, the USB port is ‘dumb’.

Just keep searching for the correct one, or I guess you could just buy one with the headphone socket and swap the actual USB socket over; I didn’t need to do but that I guess it’s also easy to remove from the panel.
