Car Bluetooth not working after using Android Auto flash drive on the car

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, can anyone help with a problem with my 2017 Skoda Octavia? After using a flash drive with Android Auto for a while, and then using Bluetooth and internet, the car completely stopped working and I can't even access its settings. So, if anyone knows what to do, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

@pab567 Hi, sorry to tag you, but I’m stuck with my MST2 unit.

My car: Skoda Octavia, unit 5Q0 035 864 C, HW H41, SW MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T (0480).

I tried installing the MIB2 Toolbox and enabling Developer Mode from SD (FAT32), but the unit always shows:

“Error: No data available. Please insert a source with software update data or check the source.”

I copied the bare files (no folder) to the SD and tried SD1 + SD2. Still the same.

Do you know if P0480T H41 needs a signed activator or a different method?

Any help or correct files would be really appreciated.

I’m in Finland if that matters. Thanks!

Your tag didn't work

@SkodaFan_Finland what's the exact problem - is it Bluetooth not working (as in one of your pics) or everything works fine just you can't install MIBSTD2 Toolbox?

Personally, I've never heard of unlocking developer mode with an SD card. How do you copy the Tool Box files to the SD card? Is it a Mac device?

The main problem started with Bluetooth.

Bluetooth and SmartLink stopped working after I used an Android Auto USB flash drive.

After that, Bluetooth does not work anymore.

I tried installing MIBSTD2 Toolbox only to fix/diagnose the Bluetooth issue,

but I cannot install the Toolbox either (I get “No data available”).

So:

– Original issue: Bluetooth not working

– Toolbox issue came later while trying to fix Bluetooth

I don't think that a wireless drive can mess up your BT.

Have you tried a factory reset of the head unit?

or at least hard boot by staying pressed ont the power button?

Yes, I did that, but it didn't work either.

To save more guessing it might be an idea to post a fault code scan of 5F made with either OBDeleven or VCDS.

I took my car to a mechanic and he checked it with a scanner, but he told me it didn't detect any faults and that it probably needs a firmware update.

What scanner did he use? A non-specific VAG scanner is unlikely to detect faults in the infotainment system, as they are often restricted to critical systems such as engine, ABS, transmission, etc.

Honestly! I don't know what device was used, but I saw him using a scanner.

I really think you need to find someone locally with either OBDeleven or VCDS and ask them to do a scan for you.

Okay, I will look for it. Thank you for your kind reply.

Diagnostik Tool can Not FIX the Problem i think.

Go in the Service Menü und Check Valid FeC Code and make Pictures and Share it

Hi,

Here is it

FeC Code 00050000 is Bluetooth and valid

Flash Firmware New

Got it.

The status of the FeC Code 00050000 as 'Valid' confirms that the Bluetooth licensing is correct.

I understand the next step is to Flash New Firmware on the unit.

Since this is a sensitive process, could you please advise: Is this something that requires a professional workshop/specialized tool (like VCDS/ODIS), or can it be safely executed by the user (e.g., via SD card)? I want to ensure the unit is not damaged.

Thank you."

SD card. BUt I beleive you already have 0480, don't you?

Yes, that's correct. As shown in the attached picture, the Installed SW MU version is indeed 0480.

If I already have version 0480, should I try flashing the same version again to fix any potential corruption, or is there a newer firmware version you recommend I install?"

There is no newer firmware so all you can do is to reflash with 0480

Can you provide me with the 0480 firmware files and the instructions, or should I take it to a local specialist for reflash
