Engine overheating on 2019 Karoq 1.6tdi DSG

Featured Replies

My Engine was over heating and the red triangle "engine overheating" light came on last week so I took my car to the main dealer.

They suspect that the problem is the water pump.

They hope to start work on it soon - but will have to remove the gearbox to get at the water pump.

Does this seem right having to remove the gearbox to get at the water pump?

If the water pump is the same end of the engine as the cambelt - and if they’ve had to go that far - maybe it’s worth asking about replacing any belts etc in that area while it’s stripped down.

I think it is - they are going to get the kit which includes the water pump.
