I think it falls under the umbrella term of ESC now. No idea what VAQ a eLSD different from XDS + is

ESC / ESP is compulsory and has been for years. When it was first Skoda still charged as an option on some cars like Fabia that were not new Type Approved.

All these marketing acronyms hack me off, like when Aldi whoops, Audi claimed thousands of patents on the cars, bent screws, washers and bits of plastic I expect.

I couldn't be arsed to arsed to read it but in case you want to, enjoy.

Sorry, thanks for letting me know, I thought I'd checked the link, obviously not, and I've missed edit, so the quote just above has been linked - or use this. -https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-eurocars/vws-vaq-diff-explained/30560

ETA: I've check (twice) both links work (at those moments, on my machine, checked after deleting 'History' on my browser, twice).

The tiny bit I read seems to be full blown, full fat, all out VW arsery speak, I've read, willy-waving acronyms for one-upmansh1t on traction type control thingymajigs to suit some Aldi, Porschaa, GTI types. As soon as I see 'VW Golf GTI' about such things the clingfilm of depressiveness envelops me, the VW bit is bad enough to start with. Must be Xmas as my mood and tolerance has improved. 😁

XDS and XDS+ are poor mans versions of a lsd just a software trick to brake wheels to try and minimise wheel spin on corner exit. The VAQ is an electronically controlled mechanical clutch system allowing up to 100% of the drive to go to the outside wheel. It’s based on the Haldex system used for 4WD in most other VAG products.
